Ian Zunker, LCQ Party for Bundaberg

Ian Zunker, Bundaberg’s candidate for Legalise Cannabis Queensland Party is a walking miracle thanks to cannabinoid medicines and is a firm believer that prohibition is causing far more harm than good. After living in chronic pain for 15 years he finally received a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and decided he didn’t want to struggle any longer.

Choosing to take what still remains a stigmatised and controversial cannabinoid medicine, his level of well-being has been raised so far above that which the current health system can achieve. Discovering the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) has been a game changer in his health regime. Homoeostasis (i.e. balance across his bodily systems) has been achieved thanks to raw cannabinoid medication feeding this system.

His level of health has been raised from a stage of ‘in decline’, to a ‘plateau’ stage and he is taking less of the major cannabinoid, delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), for pain than he was at the start of his journey, defying all the outspoken critics’ beliefs. Ian is for changing Roadside Drug Testing (RDT) laws so patients don’t lose their autonomy for using a medication that makes their lives better.

Upon researching hemp, Ian discovered there is a place for energy efficient hempcrete housing to be part of the State energy conversation, as no one is talking of lowering the consumption of power! Whilst growing, during construction and throughout its life (hempcrete), hemp absorbs CO2 whilst hempcrete houses save between 50-80% in heating/cooling costs. Environmentally sustainable facts that cannot be ignored.
