Stafford By-Election

From parts of Alderley through Chermside, Grange, Kedron and Newmarket to Stafford, Stafford-and Wavell Heights and Wilston, Legalise Cannabis Queensland (LCQ) has you covered for Cannabis Law Reform!

Current Interim LCQ Party President, Jacqueline (Jacki) Verne, will be standing up for cannabis in the upcoming Stafford By-election. An experienced advocate and activist, Jacki is not only a patient, she is also an investor in a medical cannabis start-up, a small farm, in regional southern Queensland.

With a Masters in Business and extensive experience as a human resources professional in private and public organisations, she brings strong leadership and advocacy skills. With lower to lower-middle classes feeling the brunt of the poor Queensland economy, and seemingly no end in sight, Jacki believes that legalisation of cannabis and a freeing up of the hemp industry will create economic growth in all sectors.

Providing easier access to affordable cannabis medicines for many more mental and other health issues will ensure things can only get better! So if you really want to see actual cannabis law reform, LCQ simply asks voters to, ‘Vote 1 LCQ’, then vote for whomsoever you want to, it’s that simple!

The Stafford By-election will be held on Saturday 16 May 2026.
