ROSEMARY DOOLAN is a Caboolture local, a 33 year old mother of two who has lived in the Morayfield area most of her life. She attended school locally, her dad worked for the council and her mum worked in local nursing homes.

Rosie has held many voluntary positions including school P&Cs, Visitor Information Centres and Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism. She has also worked in the hydroponic industry and is currently a Customer Service Assistant Manager at the local independent supermarket alongside running a home business.

Caring for her husband, who has an inoperable condition being treated with medical cannabis, Rosie has seen firsthand how the current system in place doesn’t support patients who have chronic medical conditions, but do not meet the requirements for NDIS funding, and is passionate about seeing changes to this.

Using cannabis most of her adult life due to menstrual pain and discomfort, she also uses cannabis recreationally and believes all adults should be able to make a personal choice regarding the way they relax and enjoy their own free time.

Rosie supports reform around the current driving laws which are very outdated and need to be reviewed immediately as they are causing harm to patients every day. We should be testing for impairment, not merely the presence of THC!

She believes government should enable farmers to transition to hemp crops to help reduce dependence on plastics and improve the environment as hemp sequesters carbon and replenishes and phytoremediates soil. Rosie has met some amazing people in the community and heard many stories of people’s struggles and decided it was her chance to stand up and help her community.
