Feeding 10 or 20% spent hemp biomass (SHB) results in a substantial residual of cannabinoids in the liver, adipose tissue and muscle, with Δ9-THC preferentially accumulating in the adipose tissue. Data demonstrated that four weeks of SHB withdrawal from the diet is sufficient to eliminate cannabinoid residuals, especially Δ9-THC. The residuals present in the muscle (i.e., meat) of the lambs fed 10 or 20% SHB do not seem to be of major concern for most consumers eating the meat.
