2020 Queensland State Election Results

In 2020, Legalise Cannabis Queensland Party stood candidates in 23 seats and averaged 3.7% in the seats it contested. In 21 of those seats, the Party’s candidates polled higher than the United Australia Party’s (UAP’s) best result of 2.4%. The party polled an outstanding 5.5% in Bundaberg and Ipswich.


A big thank-you and also congratulations go out to the 23 candidates that ran in our first contested State Election, 2020. The candidates, the electorate and their final percentages were:

  • Anthony Hopkins – Ipswich West 4.54%
  • James Dockery – Keppel 2.66%
  • Shaun Kristic – Mackay 4.38%
  • Brendan Taylor – Mansfield 2.29%
  • River Body – Maryborough 2.66%
  • Paul Swann – McConnel 2.19%
